Adamya Ramanand
Percussionist

Adamya's first Guru Karnataka Kalashree Vid M A Krishnamurthy encouraged him to take part in several music competitions from an early age and the sincerity of the Guru was rewarded with several prizes the student brought home. MAK sir, as he was affectionately known, also ensured that Adamya got onto stage with the first performance at the age of 9. Temples of Bangalore offered the perfect stage for the young boy to acquire valuable concert experience.
Sri MAK nurtured the boy with a balance of rigorous training and concert opportunities. Being a prolific performer himself, he readily shared the wealth of stage knowledge he had, with Adamya. Under his tutelage Adamya secured prizes in prestigious institutions and started blossoming as a promising young Mridangam artist.

In the year 2005, Sri Krishnamurthy readily agreed and he himself put Adamya under the wings of Mridangam legend Padma Vibhushana awardee Sangeetha Kalanidhi Umayalpuram Sri K Sivaraman sir. This was a dream come true for young Adamya and also became a major turning point in his approach towards music and Mridangam playing in particular

After laying foundations of Thanjavur style of Mridangam playing, Sri UKS further fine tuned Adamya's playing by imparting the techniques of accompaniment to vocal and instrumental music. With his blessings and love, Adamya's career has taken a leap and people recognise the influence of his illustrious Guru clearly in his playing
